    Dogma is a doctrine or belief, Dogmatist is someone who teaches that doctrine or conventionalities - usually applies to someone who believes their behavior are right and lays them down expecting anybody else to follow them.

    Hi MG

    Existence serious;

    There is a phrase 'Egotistical something or other' I just can't remember what it is.

    I take it that you desire to know the answer to this Q for your writing.

    Being that I can't reply your Q - it might exist of benefit to look at, what type of person does this;

    1 person in particular that I know, has very low self-esteem. Information technology is as if she as always to evidence a point - that bespeak existence 'expect at me. I'm non stupid'. The thing is to whom is she trying to prove this point - to her audience or to her self -I would say the latter.

    I doubtable a person that does this lacks confidence and has possibly, in the past been bullied - put down - didn't do well at school or possibly tin't get out from under the shadow of a bright and successful sibling. I would call up that they are certainly not comfortable in their own skin.

    I gave you several words that could mean what you asked.

    Pedant, Dogmatist, Bluestocking (applies to educated women only), Sophist - they all hateful know it all you were the ane that picked them autonomously. Now if you had gone and taken them and looked them up in a dictionary you may have institute the one you wanted or a thesaurus would give you a dissimilar more appropriate word. Pedagogue may also work depending on the context or braggart.

    Egotist is more than selfish and exhibitionistic.

    If you want less intelligent then there are phrases like know-information technology-all, smartie-pants, swat, teacher'due south-pet, scoob, egghead, wise-ass, windbag.

  20. Hmm, well alright cheers for your input guys. I'll cheque up on those words yous've listed and encounter which one fits the best. Then sick check dorsum before long.

    I doubtable the exact word you appear to want doesn't be. Is is possible that y'all actually want?

    all-seeing - the quality of knowing everything
    or
    polymath - a person who knows a lot about a lot

    Incidentally, learning isn't nearly being spoon-fed answers to questions. It is well-nigh doing the legwork yourself. Moreover had you idea virtually it, you might have learned a peachy deal from the responses y'all've received thus far: when a bunch of intelligent people have not ( oft, hither, past their own admission) been able to quite find the exact affair required it might be reasonably ended that that verbal matter doesn't exist...or that if it does, information technology'southward so obscure as to be (surely) unsuitable for your purposes.

  22. no idea what you simply said man lol

    What he is saying is the moment you dismissed know-it-all, arrogant git etc you lot were looking for a discussion that is not everyday.

    The very fact a author's forum was goofing instead of giving yous terms told you you were looking for something obscure.

    Also you could accept taken the intial know-it-all and done some legwork by putting it into an online thesaurus, then taking the terms from he thesaurus and plugging them into an online dictionary. Pedant is most likely the word yous desire.

  24. Contemptuous, disdainful, insolent (kind of, depending on the situation), lordly, overbearing, egotistic, presumtuous, big-headed, pretentious... ?

    I would merely utilise know-it-all. Or, if I really wanted to make a point I'd use them all in one long hateful sentence.
